Windstream Wholesale, announced the completion of its diverse, high-capacity fiber route from Salt Lake City to Portland and Seattle. This expansion will provide access from the Pacific Northwest to the rest of Windstreams nationwide network. In addition, the route from Portland to Seattle sets the foundation for Windstream Wholesales expansion into the Hillsboro, Ore., landing station, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021. Hillsboro is home to numerous high-tech companies in what has become known as the Silicon Forest. Windstream is also lighting a diverse route connecting Portland to the Bay Area in the first quarter of 2021. This will provide two diverse paths from the Hillsboro and Portland markets connecting customers to data centers across the country. This network expansion is part of an overall project to increase capacity to several major long haul routes which leverages flexible grid compliant open optical line systems featuring C+L band support and colorless, directionless, contentionless (CDC) ROADMs.
