Texas Instruments : TI to return more cash to shareholders with 13% dividend increase (Form 8-K)

09/15/2021 | 04:22pm EDT
TI to return more cash to shareholders with 13% dividend increase

DALLAS (Sept. 15, 2021) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (Nasdaq: TXN) today said it will raise its quarterly cash dividend 13%, from $1.02 per share to $1.15, or $4.60 annualized. The higher dividend will be payable November 15, 2021, to stockholders of record on November 1, 2021, contingent upon formal declaration by the board of directors at its regular meeting in October.

This dividend increase is an integral piece of TI's disciplined approach to capital management and reflects the company's continued strength in free cash flow generation and its commitment to return excess cash to stockholders. In the 12-month period ending June 2021, TI has paid 56% of its free cash flow in dividends.

TI has a proven track record of returning cash to its shareholders. Today's announcement marks 18 consecutive years of dividend increases.

•Changes in tax law and accounting standards that impact the tax rate applicable to us, the jurisdictions in which profits are determined to be earned and taxed, adverse resolution of tax audits, increases in tariff rates, and the ability to realize deferred tax assets;
•A loss suffered by one of our customers or distributors with respect to TI-consigned inventory;
•Financial difficulties of our distributors or semiconductor distributors' promotion of competing product lines to our detriment; or disputes with current or former distributors;
