Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. expects fourth-quarter revenue to rise to between US$12.4 billion and US$12.7 billion, it said Thursday.
That would be 2.1% to 4.6% higher than its third-quarter revenue of US$12.14 billion.
TSMC Chief Financial Officer Wendell Huang said growth is likely to be supported by strong demand for its 5-nanometer technology, driven by 5G smartphone launches and high-performance computing-related applications.
The Taiwanese chipmaker projects its operating profit margin will be between 40.5% and 42.5% in the fourth quarter, compared with 42.1% in the previous quarter.
