Involve Project arrives in Rio Grande do Norte through Neoenergia Cosern
Brazilian and international volunteers have the mission of contributing to the development of young people of the AMAR Institute in Natal (RN). The Involve Project focuses on professional training in the area of information technology with the objective of assisting in the future career of 38 adolescents. The action is part of the international volunteer program of Iberdrola - the parent company of Neoenergia - in which employees from other countries and Brazilians contribute voluntarily. This is the first time that the project takes place in the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, state where the company operates through the concessionaire Neoenergia Cosern.
The project, which is already in its 10th edition and is carried out by Iberdrola also in Mexico, had the official inauguration in October, during an event held in a hybrid - virtual and face-to-face way. The moment was attended by the 20 national and international volunteers who will work on the project and the 38 young people contemplated from the Amar Institute, a non-governmental non-profit organization benefited by the project. The students of the entity will receive, during 12 months, computer classes and basic skills to act on the Internet, such as video editing.
Because of the social distancing needs for prevention of Covid-19, the format of Involve 2021 remains online. With this, Neoenergia renovated a room of the Amar Institute to accommodate students during the remote classes that are part of the Involve Program. In other editions of the project, young people from São Paulo and Pernambuco have already been impacted. Among them, some began to act as young apprentices in the company.
"The project has transformed the lives of several adolescents in a vulnerable situation. Through the program, young people have access to professional training and quality training, as well as the opportunity to live with successful people in their careers, including professionals from other countries," says Clayton Freire, Manager of Internal Communication and responsible for Neoenergia's volunteer program.
