PARIS, Oct 18 (Reuters) - France's CRE energy regulator said
on Monday that the intervention of the state to tackle surging
energy prices was justified, adding that those gas price
increases could be as high as 19.5%, including all charges, in
November and December.
France said at the end of last month that it would block
further natural gas price hikes after the 12.6% rise that
occurred on Oct. 1, and also prevent a planned increase in
electricity tariffs scheduled in February.
