Watches and Wonders Sanya
Three months at the heart of watchmaking
For the second consecutive year, the Chinese seaside resort will welcome Watches and Wonders in the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex from October 1st to December 31st, 2021. The agenda of this prestigious event includes new products and exceptional pieces from fourteen exhibiting Maisons, conferences, workshops and many events intended for a wide public.
There are only a few days left before the start of Watches and Wonders Sanya, whose second edition will be taking up residence in the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex for three months from October 1st to December 31st, 2021. Fourteen watchmaking Maisons are preparing to bring a flavour of watchmaking excellence to the CDF Mall, ideally located in the Chinese seaside resort of Sanya, on the southern end of Hainan Island. An unmissable gathering intended for a wide public - collectors, watchmaking enthusiasts or simple fine-watch lovers.
For this 2021 edition, the pop-up pavilions of the exhibiting Maisons, set up beneath two tents opposite the main entrance, have been entirely customised. Open and full of light, they have been designed to make it easier to talk and interact with the public. A privileged setting for visitors who will be able to discover the latest creations of twelve watchmaking Maisons. As for Cartier and Hermès, they will welcome visitors within their respective boutiques located inside the Mall.
Three months during which watchmaking excellence will be in the spotlight
End clients, national press, representatives and officials will be able to preview the exhibiting Maisons' new collections during the VIP days that will be held from September 28th to 30th, 2021. Watches and Wonders Sanya will then officially open its doors to the public in time for the Golden Week - from October 1st to 7th - a week of holidays that is particularly popular with the Chinese clientele. Visitors will then be invited to celebrate watchmaking excellence until December 31st, 2021.
Between appreciating the different facets of the watchmaking art through watchmakers' demonstrations, analysing the latest trends, diving into the history of emblematic watches, and understanding watch complications, visitors will be spoilt for choice. Not to mention the many activities offered by the participating Maisons to highlight their new collections. Among them, Cartier will be paying tribute to its watchmaking heritage, expertise and creativity through animations based on its emblematic Panthère and Pasha collections. Hermès will unveil the all-new Slim d'Hermès Squelette Lune as well as jewelry pieces from the Arceau line. IWC, as part of its partnership with the world's first racing series for flying electric cars, will be exhibiting the famous Airspeeders in the middle of the Esplanade while, with Roger Dubuis, visitors will surely become intoxicated by the power of the Lamborghini car on display. Ulysse Nardin, with its Vertical Odyssey, will take the visitor on a unique voyage where sea meets sky and Jaeger-LeCoultre, behind the scenes of Art Deco design, to celebrate 90 years of the Reverso watch in the presence of the renowned Chinese actor Jing Boran. H. Moser & Cie. will be presenting its Streamliner Perpetual Calendar model as a world premiere; as for Panerai, its timepieces built to cope with the most extreme situations will be center stage. Two new Clifton timepieces, as well as Riviera Chronos will also be introduced by Baume & Mercier.
Watches and Wonders Sanya already looks set to bring a passion for watchmaking excellence to the Chinese seaside resort. Enjoy the experience from October 1st to December 31st, 2021.
