Today BLG Automotive GmbH & Co. KG and project developer Panattoni Europe signed the contract for a new building project at the Bremen Freight Village (GVZ). The project involves construction of a modern multi-user warehouse with an indoor area of 28,600 square meters and another 1,600 square meters of office, staff and technical space.
By virtue of the new facility, BLG creates additional areas available for customers in the contract logistics segment. The company already manages over 200,000 square meters of logistics space at the Bremen location. "We are extremely pleased to be able to offer existing and new customers even more capacity at our home location - after all, there is plenty of demand," says Frank Sturm, Managing Director of BLG Automotive. He reckons with 200 new jobs related to the new warehouse.
According to plans, Panattoni Deutschland will build the facility and make it available to BLG as quickly as possible. "For us the logistics site in Bremen with its Freight Village is always an outstanding location for a project. We are glad we have the opportunity to develop the second logistics facility within two years," says Jason Bennett, Managing Director of the German branch of Panattoni Europe with headquarters in Munich. The project developer aims to build the new multi-user warehouse in such a way that it can be awarded the DGNB silver medal. The lease runs for ten years.
Logistics real estate consultant Logivest GmbH from Munich acted as an advisor during the contract negotiations. The law firm Watson, Farley & Williams provided Panattoni Europe with legal and tax counsel.
