Bharti Airtel Ltd. said Tuesday that net loss narrowed in the second quarter, owing to strong growth in revenue, margins and customers.
For the period ended Sept. 30, the Indian telecom company said its net loss was 7.63 billion Indian rupees ($103.15 million) compared with a net loss of INR230.45 billion a year earlier. The result missed an estimate for a net profit of INR948.2 million from a poll of analysts by Visible Alpha.
Second-quarter revenue increased to INR257.85 billion from INR211.31 billion a year earlier, according to the stock-exchange filing.
The company said it remains committed to improving the profitability of its businesses.
