AqualisBraemar LOC : ABL Supports Mission To Seafarers Annual Golf Day

11/17/2021 | 03:01pm EST
ABL Supports Mission To Seafarers Annual Golf Day

Last weekend, some of the ABL maritime team got out their golf clubs to show their support to The Mission to Seafarers at the Marine Community Gold Day , Dubai - an annual fundraiser event held in support of The Mission to Seafarers (MTS).

As bronze sponsors to the event, Mark McGurran, Pat Cannie, John Walker, Wayne Neeves and Stuart Mill, took part in the annual golf tournament, raising funds for MTS's important work in supporting the pastoral, physical and emotional wellbeing of seafarers worldwide.

The day also called for all participants to donate clothes and water bottle donations to give to seafaring men and women.

About The Mission to Seafarers

The Mission to Seafarers was founded in 1856 and strives to meet the needs of all seafarers and their families, irrespective of faith or cultural background. Its' simple mission is to care for the shipping industry's most important asset: its people.

Throughout a long and distinguished history, the Mission has grown to become one of the largest port-based welfare operators in the world, providing a service in 200 ports, 365 days a year, across 50 countries. 118 of these ports have a Flying Angel Centre. International Headquarters (IHQ) in London directly supports over 50 front-line staff and around 100 honorary chaplains in addition to an army of volunteers, who visit ships, offer hospitality, drive minibuses and engage in a range of other welfare activity.

The Mission to Seafarers vision is to operate a network where seafarers are valued and cared for in the ports where the need is greatest. We are determined to be in the right ports with the right resources offering support which is relevant, compassionate and life-enhancing. As a network of co-operating maritime welfare charities working in 50 countries, we have a presence in more than 200 ports and strive to improve and safeguard the wellbeing of the world's 1.5 million seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.
