Materials Up Slightly Amid Uncertainty About Demand Outlook -- Materials Roundup

Producers of metals and other raw materials rose slightly, as traders hedged their bets on the outlook for global economic activity and inflation.

The prospects of a hit to global economic demand from the omicron variant of Covid 19 had a muted impact on metals prices.

"Soft" commodity futures such as cocoa and coffee futures fell, however.

Gold futures continued their retreat in the face of a strong dollar.
