Corporate earnings reports keep coming, with Burberry, Rolls-Royce, or Canada Goose. Alibaba improved its revenues, but the Chinese online shopping giant, whose parent company Ant Group is under intense pressure from local regulators, posted a large net loss.á Elon Musk changes his mind about bitcoin.

  • Alibaba announced on Thursday a stronger-than-expected increase in its quarterly revenue but the Chinese online shopping giant, whose parent company Ant Group is under intense pressure from local regulators, posted a net loss of 5.48 billion yuan (703 million euros) compared to a profit a year earlier in the same period. 
  • Canada Goose, for the first time, expects annual sales to exceed one billion Canadian dollars, as rising online sales and Chinese demand helped the apparel group report a surprise profit in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year. 
  • Tod's has no plans for a joint transaction with LVMH, for now.
  • Burberry results are slightly better than expected. The British luxury group expects its revenues to accelerate.
  • Rolls-Royce: the group confirmed its 2021 forecast.
  • Softbank: the stock loses 4% despite record results.
  • Sonos: the stock soared more than 14% in the after-hours trading following the release of its results, after falling 10% during the day.
  • Telefonica: the Spanish operator reported slightly better than expected results.
  • Volvo Cars(Geely) is considering an IPO in Stockholm.
  • Samsung Electronics to invest $151bn in non-memory chips by 2030.
  • Intertek to buy SAI Global for $660M.
  • Elon Musk announces Tesla will no longer accept bitcoin due to environmental consequences of cryptocurrencies.
  • FAA approves repair of The Boeing Company's B737MAX electrical system .
