Communications services companies ticked down as traders hedged their bets on the outlook for conventional telecom and media companies' growth.

Danish electronics company Bang & Olufsen plans to expand its partnership with Verizon Communications, which already sells the company's speakers at its retail locations and could now offer entertainment centers.
