PPL Corp. (PPL) said Tuesday profit fell in the second quarter.
The Allentown, Pa.-based utility company reported second-quarter income of $441 million, or 60 cents a share, compared with $515 million, or 73 cents a share, a year earlier.
The company reported a profit of 58 cents a share following adjustments, 2 cents above what analysts predicted, according to FactSet.
Operating revenue slipped 2% from the year earlier to $1.8 billion.
PPL reported flat profit compared with last year in its largest business of delivering electricity in parts of the U.K. Lower sales volumes weighed on results, the company said.
