STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR) on Friday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $714 million.
The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of $3.28 per share. Earnings, adjusted to extinguish debt, were $3.37 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.50 per share.
The cable provider posted revenue of $11.76 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Twelve analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $11.72 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.67 billion, or $7.45 per share. Revenue was reported as $45.76 billion.
Charter shares have risen roughly 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 70% in the last 12 months.
