Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. said profit rose in the fiscal third quarter on higher revenue, especially from the convenience sector.
The Canadian convenience-store operator said net income was $659.9 million, or 59 cents a share, for the quarter ended Feb. 2, up from $612.1 million, or 54 cents a share, in the same quarter a year earlier. Adjusted earnings were 52 cents a share, compared with 53 cents a share a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet expected adjusted earnings of 43 cents a share.
Revenue rose to $16.6 billion from $16.52 billion a year ago. Analysts were looking for $16.54 billion.
