'Sustainability is no longer about how we do business; it is the future of our business,' explains Jasienski. 'We are continuously working towards zero-emission deep sea shipping, but this is not something any of us can do alone - partnerships are crucial to the industry's progress in this area.
'That's why I very much look forward to being part of the WSC's Board of Directors. I will not only represent Wallenius Wilhelmsen but also look at the bigger picture for the whole industry and the organisation's members. Together we are stronger and able to raise the key challenges facing the liner shipping industry today,' he adds.
As an association of liner shipping companies with offices in Brussels, Singapore and Washington, D.C., WSC's members carry approximately 90 percent of international containerised trade and a substantial share of the world's roll-on/roll-off cargoes. The Council's goal is to provide a coordinated voice for the industry through its work with policymakers and other groups interested in international transportation issues.
