AF Gruppen (AFG) has been nominated by the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health
Authority as contractor for undertaking two new contracts for the construction
of a new hospital in Drammen.
One of the contracts comprises a culvert for crossing the Drammen railway with a
new four-lane access road to the hospital and a pedestrian and bicycle bridge.
Work under this contract starts in the first quarter of 2021 with completion
scheduled the spring of 2022. This is a general contract and has an estimated
value of NOK 120 million excl. VAT.
The other contract comprises structural and pile works for the central building
west and the service square. This includes half of the west treatment building,
outpatient clinic 2, half the ward building and service building. The total area
is 33,000 m2. The project will be carried out as a general contract. The project
kicks off in March 2021, with completion scheduled for December 2022. The
agreement has a value of NOK 347 million, excluding VAT.
AF Gruppen has previously carried out demolition work at the site of the new
hospital. In May 2020 the construction business also started work on concrete
and pile works for the basement.
"We are very pleased that the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority has
nominated us for two interesting contracts at the new hospital in Drammen. We
are already well underway with the basement construction and are looking forward
to continuing the good partnership with the Authority's project organisation,"
says Amund Tøftum, CEO of AF Gruppen.
