Thomas Schmid holds the position of Chairman-Supervisory Board at ARE Austrian Real Estate GmbH, Chairman-Supervisory Board at VERBUND AG and Chief Executive Officer at Österreichische Beteiligungs AG. Mr. Schmid is also on the board of OMV AG, Telekom Austria AG and Österreichische Lotterien GmbH.

In the past Thomas Schmid held the position of Secretary General & Head-Ministers Cabinet at Austria Federal Ministry of Finance and Press Secretary at Austria Federal Ministry of Finance.

He received a graduate degree from the University of Vienna and a graduate degree from the University of Vienna.
